ASHTEAD CHURCHES TOGETHER MEN'S BREAKFAST
Saturday 19th September, 8:00-9:30am
Baptist Church, ASHTEAD
We are a group of like-minded men from all the Christian churches in Ashtead, who wish to develop friendships and express their common faith beyond attending their various Sunday services. We meet monthly on Saturday mornings over a simple breakfast (normally £5). We have a diverse programme of speakers and topics to stimulate discussion, expand understanding, and deepen our faith... something for everyone!
All ages, backgrounds, shapes and interests are welcome - neighbours and friends, as well as regular churchgoers. This month's speaker & topic: Helen Evans on Dnipro Hope Mission.

The House of Prayer, EAST MOLESEY
This is a retreat made in daily life. The sessions are experiential in nature and include prayer time, the use of scripture, music, art, poetry, reflection and sharing from the two leaders on their personal experience of prayer and life.

Part of our Young Adult Retreat series:  "You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me" (Jn 15:27). Pope Leo XIV's message for the 40th World Youth Day. Young Adults (18-35) from across the UK are invited to join the Youth team from Arundel and Brighton Diocese for a retreat day that will focus on being a peacemaker: "If you wish to draw others to peace, first have it yourselves; be steadfast in peace yourselves.  To inflame others, you must have the flame burning within." Saint Augustine of Hippo, Sermon. 357, 3Join us and guest speakers for a powerful one-day retreat — a sacred opportunity to encounter Jesus. Come as you are, bringing your fears, joys, struggles and hopes before Him in an atmosphere of prayer, worship, and openness. A jam-packed day of prayer, formation, friendship, and fun as together, we will seek hearts open to His healing presence, trusting that Jesus desires to bring freedom, restoration, and transformation to our lives. As we encounter Him, we pray to discover true peace within ourselves, to become peacemakers in the world around us, and to be renewed with an apostolic fire burning brightly within our hearts. Lunch and refreshments are included in the ticket price. Participants are very welcome to join Parish Mass at 6.30pm, with social time at a local pub to follow.

Come for an afternoon of live music, dancing, fun and community with teas and wine provided. Everyone is welcome, so bring the whole family and enjoy an afternoon of music and dancing for all ages! Tickets £10 per adult, children under 16 are free. Tickets available at Church Masses from Saturday 12 September 2026 with payments ideally via Card.

A WALKING PIMGRIMAGE, ending at Adoremus Eucharistic Festival
Monday 5th October to Friday 9th October
From MAIDSTONE to SOUTHWARK
A chance to join the national walking pilgrimage, starting from the Church of St Francis in Maidstone and finishing with shared prayer at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St George in Southwark. The pilgrimage will reflect the Year of St Francis of Assisi and will embody his values of joy, simplicity, humility, peace and love of creation. A group of perpetual pilgrims will walk the whole distance, joined by day pilgrims and volunteers.

NEW GROWING IN FAITH AND FRIENDSHIP

One of the striking features of our Emmaus programme has been how developing friendships 
has enabled and encouraged growing in faith. Trusted relationships mean a safe space in which to explore questions about faith and its application to daily life. So we'd like to establish a regular opportunity for anyone and everyone to come together and deepen both friendships and faith. We'll begin with a social time, move into faith refection and end with prayer. 
Come along, bring a friend, make some new friends!

Pope Leo XIV's message for the 40th World Youth Day. Young Adults (18-35) from across the UK are invited to join the Youth team from Arundel and Brighton Diocese for a retreat day that will focus on the following extract from John's Gospel: "To bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him" (Jn 1:7). Join us and guest speakers for a powerful one-day retreat — a sacred opportunity to encounter Jesus. Come as you are, bringing your fears, joys, struggles and hopes before Him in an atmosphere of prayer, worship, and openness. A jam-packed day of prayer, formation, friendship, and fun as together, we will seek hearts open to His healing presence, trusting that Jesus desires to bring freedom, restoration, and transformation to our lives. As we encounter Him, we pray to discover true peace within ourselves, to become peacemakers in the world around us, and to be renewed with an apostolic fire burning brightly within our hearts. PARISH DAY OF RECOLLECTION, St Joseph's, Epsom
Friday 20th November, 10:00am-6:30pm
Franciscan Centre, LADYWELL
We are planning a Parish Day of Recollection in a picturesque, peaceful setting near Godalming. A full programme is being prepared in co-operation with the Team at Ladywell, but it will be based on 2026 marking the 800th Anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. We expect the day to include Mass, talks, discussions and time for quiet reflection.
Cost for the day £35, which includes a two-course lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day. NOTE: non-refundable 30% deposit (£10.50) payable on booking; balance (£24.50) to be collected before October 20th.
We have booked a coach from St Joseph's church (depart 08:45, return ~17:15) - depending on numbers, the cost of the coach is expected to be in the region of £15.

CHORAL CONCERT IN MEMORY OF FR STEPHEN ORTIGER OSB

WORTH ABBEY
Hosted by Worth Society, a very special musical event at Worth Abbey in honour of the third Abbot of Worth, Fr Stephen Ortiger OSB. The programme will include the première of Julian Gairdner’s new work, Abbatial Requiem, alongside a selection of other choral pieces performed by Vox Cordis and the Worthian Singers. This concert brings together musicians, alumni, friends of the Abbey, and members of the wider Worth community to celebrate Fr Stephen’s memory through the beauty of sacred music. Net proceeds will be shared by The Fr Stephen Ortiger Bursary Fund and The Catholic Diocese of Arundel & Brighton Lourdes Pilgrimage.

Three nights, led by Fr Royston, from the Redemptorist Monastery in South London. Fr Royston is the Missions Coordinator for his province, organising the Parish Mission apostolate and preaching around 20 missions a year. He is also the Vocations Director for the Redemptorists in the UK, helping young men discern the call of God. More details to follow ...
