The "Word who is Life" is the fruit of several years’ work in Arundel & Brighton and represents a vision for building the Kingdom of Heaven in our parishes through a hugely ambitious process of change that must be inspired by the Holy Spirit. "Success" will be the existence of strong, lively and welcoming communities truly living their faith, rooted in prayer and God's love.

Some elements of the Plan may be achieved quickly; others will take time to come to fruition. Over the coming months and years, we pray that we will see:

• communities re-committed to the celebration of the Eucharist.

• plans for developing prayer, formation and mission with each other and our schools.

• a strong and mutually supportive clergy team in each Parish.

• wide expansion of parishioner leadership, participation and engagement.

• new ways of doing things to aid evangelisation, responding to a “change of era”.

• a diocese restructured into 11 Parishes, each with multiple local communities.

• a bringing together of some resources (e.g. IT, procurement) to better serve the mission.

• freeing up of priests from administrative responsibilities to focus on celebrating the eucharist, preaching, serving local pastoral needs, and leading parish communities.
